Kickboxing

This is a high-intensity aerobic workout which draws techniques and inspiration from the martial arts. The class can be adapted to be high- or low-impact. In addition to building cardiovascular health, the combination of kicks and punches incorporated during the class build muscle tone and strength, while helping to improve coordination and balance.

For Self-defense:                                                    KB1
We use a combination of actual targets, so you can get the real feel of the power of the impacts.  During each session, you will also be taught how each one of the moves relate to real life, how to execute an attack, defense, with agility and speed drills.

        For Fun/Fitness                                      KB2

This program is not intended for real-life scenarios, although such are discussed.

In this aerobic program, our goals are the opposite of a pro or even amateur fighter: We do this with a priority to take care of our bodies not win a fight or tournament. As such, there are moves that are natural to the fighter that in our program we not do for two reasons:

  1. We concentrate on the aerobic aspect.
  2. Our Kickboxing classes are geared towards a "General Population" not intended to instruct martial artists, due to it's basic nature..
This program is designed to develop the self-confidence, muscle coordination, technique and flexibility required to begin Martial Arts training. Don't confuse the two.

A typical session/class begins with techniques, then target striking  and end with light sparring.  These classes combine aspects from a few combat forms.  American-style kickboxing, western boxing, some light French Savate and good 'ol brawling.
